The Department of Local Government, Sport & Cultural Industries, Leisure Institute of Western Australia Aquatics, Royal Life Saving Society WA and the Town of Port Hedland would like to invite aquatic managers and shire staff across the North West to attend the 23rd Annual North West Pool Managers Aquatics Seminar.

The event will highlight issues relevant to aquatic centres in the region. It also provides a great opportunity to share the knowledge and information that exists throughout the regions and the aquatic industry.

LIWA Aquatics hit the road again in October to “Maintain the Network” in our Great Southern and Wheatbelt regional areas of WA. This year LIWA and its delegates where privileged to visit the towns of Gnowangerup and Cunderdin.

Day 1

This year’s conference was once again very well supported by industry with over 245 delegates registering for the event that included 36 Stands in the Exhibition Area. There was plenty of colour, noise and excitement on Monday morning registration with delegates from all over the state flying in for the two days of presentations and trade exhibition. Once the event started it had a great energy and vibe as people with common interest catch up to discuss the past season as well as what is on the horizon for the next.

Last month the ARI NSW held the 54th Annual Conference & Trade Show at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal. The event ran over 2 days and was well attended by a diverse group of over 180 Industry Professionals.

The AGM was held on Sunday 17th June and saw the re-election of the ARI Committee including Colin Kane as President, Roz Neville as Vice President, Matt Griffiths as Treasurer & Stan Wall as Secretary. In addition to the Committee elections, the ARI Committee also inducted David Lloyd, Stephen Leahy and John Davies as Fellows of the Aquatic & Recreation Institute.

 Some key highlights of the event include the insightful sessions from our keynote Speakers Wayne Pearce & James Adonis – both of whom applied great insights to the way we can work better in a team environment.

The 2014 Conference Dinner once again provided the opportunity for the Institute to recognise both individuals and organisations that have contributed to the development of our industry. The after dinner presentations were highlighted by the presence of the Mia Davies MLA, Minister for Water; Forestry; Deputy Leader of the National Party of Western Australia who has joined us again this year to present awards to our new WaterWise Aquatics Centres.
